The Best Use of Money

*No Audio due to a technical issue during recording, our apologies.

1. What is money? What are the benefits of money? What are the dangers of money? Why can

money be dangerous?

2. Is the average Canadian rich? Defend you answer (check out this interesting article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2082385/We-1–You-need-34k-income-global-elite–half-worlds-richest-live-U-S.html). Is it sinful for a Christian to be rich? Why or why not?

3. Read 1 Timothy 6:17-19.

4. What does verse 17 have to say about the attitude we should have towards wealth and what

God provides? How might this verse call a middle-class Canadian to live differently? How might this verse be freeing for certain believers?

5. How does verse 18 direct a rich person to live? Read Acts 2:42-47 and Acts 4:32-37. How do these passages inform the life of the rich believer? Is it possible to live like this today? Why or why not? If so, what keeps us from it?

6. What does verse 19 tell us? Is it ok for a believer to act with treasure in mind? Why or why not?

7. John Wesley directed the believer to: 1. Earn all you can, 2. Save all you can. 3. Give all you can. Do you agree with this approach to money? Why or why not?

8. Spend a few minutes with your journal or in your own thoughts and answer this question: What

is God calling me to do as a result of this sermon and discussion?
