celebrating GOD through festivals
The rythm of our spiritual lives is so important to who we become as worshippers of God. And that rythm often involves some joys and sorrows, some celebration, and some healing and restoration for the full abundant life in Christ to fully emerge. So we take time through the year to “festival together” and celebrate God’s goodness in our loves as his children. Here are the yearly festivals that we observe to celebrate His goodness and restore the foundations of our faith in God.
set free festival
During the fall, we take a weekend to seek restoration of our spiritual foundations in Christ by taking a spiritual inventory, making confession and repentance, and finding forgiveness and freedom from the things that hold us back from living fully free in Christ. This festival is usually held in November. These are planned mainly as times for adults and youth. See the Events Calendar for the exact dates this year.
solemn assembly festival
We start each year as a church family by surrendering all that is ahead of us, and all that is in us to His saving grace. At this festival we set our year in the hands of God, asking Him to empower us to live the Christian life, and to do His will. This festival is usually during the first week of January. These are planned as times for adults, children and families. See the Events Calendar for the exact dates this year.
global missions festival
On a regular basis we participate in mission in our community and in our world. And to ensure that we are aligned with God’s purposes, and are ready to fulfill His word, we gather together to celebrate what God has done through us and our missions partners, and prepare for the missions ahead of us. This festival is usually held in March. These are planned as times for adults, children and families. See the Events Calendar for the exact dates this year.
easter festival
Our victory in life is directly linked to Christ’s victory over sin on the cross. Every year we festival together to remember the passion of Jesus, and also to celebrate His resurrection. In truth, our “hope is built on nothing less that Jesus’ blood and righteousness.” This festival usually occurs in March or April. These are planned as times for adults, children and families. See the Events Calendar for the exact dates this year.
hearing God festival
This is a time to pull away and grow in hearing God’s voice, and learn to follow His word. We festival together to better learn how to differentiate His voice from all other voices in our head and lives. This festival is usually held in April or May. These are planned as times for adults, children and families. See the Events Calendar for the exact dates this year.
Empowerment for Ministry Festival
Our ability to do God’s will is also very linked to the level of our surrender to His Spirit. And so we desired to be continually filled with His life, His wisdom, His love, and His power to live holy lives. So we pull away in the spring each year to festival together to ensure that we are filled by His Spirit and living in victory. This festival is usually held in May. These are planned as times for adults, children and families. See the Events Calendar for the exact dates this year.
